How to transfer Characters between official Servers (Scorched Earth)

Ark: Scorched Earth added a new feature for transfering characters, items and even dinosaurs from the DLC to the main game servers. But this feature is a little bit hidden within the game. This only works on the official scorched earth servers and some (good configured) unofficial servers.

Checking

You can only transfer on official servers of the same type. So you can’t create a character on a PvE Scorched Earth Server and transfer everything on a PvP. If you’re playing on an unofficial server, make sure they offer this feature before you start.

Transfer

The transfer is pretty easy. You have to visit a Tribute Terminal or any Supply Crate ingame. These implement the “ARK Tribute” option, which will upload your character to the cloud. On any connected server, you can simply download your character directly.

What is transferred

The transfer does only work from Scorched Earth to TheCenter (DLC) / TheIsland (Classic) if you want to keep your items. If you travel in the other direction, your whole belongings will stay on the old server. Your Tribes will stay intact, but alliances will be gone and have to be recreated on each server

Singleplayer

On singleplayer, you can also use the ARK Tribute option. After doing so, just leave the game and start it again with the new map. This way you’ll be offered to “download” your character.

ARK: Survival Evolved Patch 246.0

New

  • Scorched Earth Expansion Integration!
  • Cross-ARK travel & Cross-Official-Server Transfer via Supply Crates & Obelis Terminals
  • New Structure: Large Ceiling Dino Doors (Stone, Metal, Adobe)
  • NVIDIA Ansel support (Launch ARK with the NVIDIA Ansel launch option (or -allowansel), Alt-F2 during singleplayer gameplay, and [Delete] in spectator mode to access Depth of Field menu!)

ARK: Survival Evolved Xbox Update Version 739

On top of the Scorched Earth content, Xbox One player will also receive a new update that brings them up to speed with lots of the content already available on PC. The update will also include a HD resolution upgrade to fully support 720p gameplay with 1080p UI’s.

Primitive+ is now an official part of ARK: Survival Evolved on Xbox One, which features over 100 new items, weapons, structures, and survival mechanics oriented towards “primitive” style living — effectively doubling the amount of content within ARK! (HERE you can find the Primitive+-ItemID list)

Newly available as part of the ‘ARK Official Mods Program’ today, Primitive+ is a functionality mod playable on official ARK maps, challenging players to use weapons and tools only made of wood and stone, without the benefit of advanced metals to create weapons such as guns. It’s a whole new set of items and detailed mechanics focused on ‘primitive’ survival, which fits snugly in the world of ARK.

In addition, the versatile Pelagornis and the pack-minded Allosaurus, along with a new Fishing Rod and fishing mechanic, and a flurry of additional gameplay features have been added!

Additional Update Version 739 Content Includes:

  • New Item: Fishing Rod + Fishing Mechanic! Be a pro fisherman as you apply varied bait, cast the line, wait for a fish to become ensnared, and then succeed at a mini-game to reel the fish and claim copious rewards!
  • New Structure: Industrial Grinder that grinds items into a portion of their crafting resources, then converts resources into simpler resources
  • New Structure: Spiral Staircase (Stone/Wood/Metal)
  • New Mechanic: Optional Hitmarkers for ranged attacks (server can toggle them, as well as client if the server allows it)
  • Building Attack/Destruction TribeLogs

Dino Dossier: Lymantria / Desert Moth (Scorched Earth)

Common Name Lymantria
Species Lymantria sporarmis
Time Holocene
Diet Herbivore
Temperament Evasive
Domestication
Tameable Yes
Rideable  Yes
Command admincheat summon Moth_Character_BP_C;
  • Wild: Like its smaller relatives, Lymantria sporarmis survives by draining plants and vegetables of their nutrients. Given the desolate nature of the region, that makes its options rather limited, but fortunately its relationship with the desert's plants is symbiotic. In addition to pollinating them, the spores it releases help nourish the harsh desert plants.

  • Domesticated: Lymantria is occasionally used as a one man flying mount, but its ability to produce silk and spores is often considered more valuable due to its slow flight speed. Its silk can be weaved into heat-dispersing cloth, and its spores gathered for fertilizer or poison. Its saving grace as a mount is its ability to release spores mid flight, allowing it to act as a primitive bomber during sieges.

  • Known Information: When attacked, the slow-moving Lymantria immediately takes to the air and flies almost straight up while releasing spores. While the spores are nutritious to most plants, they are highly poisonous to most other organisms.

Dino Dossier: JugBug (Scorched Earth)

Common Name JugBug
Species Scutinphora puteus
Time  Holocene
Diet  Herbivore
Temperament  Passive
Domestication
Tameable No
Rideable No
Command admincheat summon Jugbug_Character_BaseBP_C;
  • Wild: Scutinphora puteus is a fast, flying insect that comes in two varieties, visually distinct only in the red or green markings on its exoskeleton. Biologically and behaviorally, the are practically the same. The only real difference between the two is the resource they gather in the expandable sacks on their backs. Scutinphora with green markings gather water, and Scutinphora with red markings gather oil. This unique ability makes Scutinphora a target for both the desert's natural predators and human survivors. Finding a green Scutinphora at the right time could prove to be life-saving, and survivors can use the oil produced by red Scutinphora for a wide variety of purposes.

  • Domesticated: Like many of the insects on the island, Scutinphora cannot be tamed. Beyond the resources obtained while hunting it, survivors will find no use for it.

Dino Dossier: Death Worm (Scorched Earth)

Common Name Death Worm
Species  Khorkoi arrakis
Time  ?
Diet  Carnivore
Temperament  Extremely Territorial
Domestication
Tameable No
Rideable No
Command admincheat summon Deathworm_Character_BP_C;
  • Wild: The titanic Khorkoi arrakis is commonly called a "Death Worm" by the locals, but only half of this name is accurate. Khorkoi is, in fact, not a worm at all. Worms are decomposers that gain nutrients from dead or decaying materials, while Khorkoi is a carnivore.

  • Domesticated: Attempting to tame Khorkoi will almost certainly result in failure and a very painful death. Any survivors in this desert should avoid Khorkoi territory at all costs.

  • Known Information: Khorkoi spends most of its time burrowed beneath the desert sands, exploding to the surface only to devour its prey in a single bite. The only chance of surviving a Khorkoi attack is if its initial lunge misses, as it's momentarily immobile afterwards. Theoretically, that could provide a brief opportunity to escape its territory. I wouldn't count on such luck though. Lineus Spends most of its life underground, burrowing through sand and stone. Tribes only encounter Lineus when they encroach upon its territory, at which point it unborrows and releases carnage. Fortunately, Lineus is stationary while unburrowed, so escaping is fairly straightforward...

Scorched Earth: Unofficial Server Tutorial (with Cross ARK Character Transfer)

Adding a second Scorched Earth Server to your existing server is pretty easy. If you don’t have any gameserver running right now, please check THIS tutorial.

Be aware:

You have to start a second instance of ARK: Survival Evolved on your machine. This will take a lot of RAM and use your CPU even more. Most shared or rental servers will struggle with this. So check first if you can run two instances at once on your machine.

HowTo:

You need to start the game twice from the same location. Do not download the game twice. Edit the Launch-Commands of the first game and add

AltSaveDirectoryName=SaveOrg  -NoTransferFromFiltering  -clusterid=YOURRANDOMID
example: ShooterGameServer.exe TheIsland?SessionName=MyGameSession?AltSaveDirectoryName=SaveOrg -NoTransferFromFiltering -clusterid=Cluster1

Start the second server with scorched earth and add the same flags (albeit with a different SaveDirectoryName). Make sure to use the same clusterid.

AltSaveDirectoryName=SaveSE  -NoTransferFromFiltering  -clusterid=SAMERANDOMID
example: ShooterGameServer.exe ScorchedEarth_P?SessionName=MyScorchedSession?AltSaveDirectoryName=SaveSE -NoTransferFromFiltering -clusterid=Cluster1

Now you should run two instances, which can be transfered from and to. This should also work on different gametype servers. Just modify the additional Options.

Dino Dossier: Jerboa (Scorched Earth)

Common Name Jerboa
Species Renopila amplexus
Time  ?
Diet  Herbivore
Temperament  Cowardly
Domestication
Tameable Yes
Rideable  No
Command admincheat summon Jerboa_Character_BP_C;
  • Wild: Scientifically speaking, Renopila Amplexus is an adorable little fuzzball and I just want to hug it forever. Unfortunately, being harmless and lovable is inadequate as a defense mechanism in this wasteland, and that means Renopila is at the bottom of the food chain. It's an easy meal for predators and survivors alike, the latter of whom also value its hide.

  • Domesticated: In addition to being the cutest little companion in the desert, hours of close study and/or cuddling have taught me that Renopila has an instinctive understanding of this land's weather patterns. When the weather is about to change, Renopila will suddenly start behaving differently, so taming Renopila does have practical uses that can justify its perch upon ones shoulder. Not that I need justification, but I'll take whatever excuse I can get.

  • Known Information: Renopila generally fits into the clade Glires, but it seems to share traits with both rodents and lagomorphs. While it looks similar to some of the kangaroo mice at first glance, it is clearly unrelated.
